Reading books unfortunately has become something of the past. Kids and adults these days don’t read as much as they should.

In my opinion books are still the number one source for knowledge and a great way of education. These days you can learn literally everything through books , from financials to time management, health, wealth and general knowledge.

The best part about these priceless resources, they are extremely affordable! And with the technology today, you can even read it all through your smart phone or e-book reader.

If you are a book lover like I am, or considering to start reading (which I highly encourage), I would suggest to stay away from the fiction type of books, the dramas, wars and negative type of books. Stick to the ones that can teach you something valuable, something you can implement immediately and easily in your life. These books are usually self-help books, how to books and other instructional books.

Here I will share with you a list of some of the great books I have read and highly recommend. Enjoy!

 

the magic of thinking big

In this book, David J. Schwartz, the author, talks about “Make Your Attitudes Your Allies.” This book is a classic motivational and self-help book, which is similar to another motivational book – “The Power Of Positive Thinking”. As one reads each chapter, the reader gains an understanding of each chapter title/topic along with a brief excerpt from the author’s personal life. He also describes three failure diseases : excuse-itis, detail-itis and procrastination. This book builds an individual’s confidence, mentality, vision of life and ultimately the ability to think big introspectively and extrospectively. In short, making better decisions and avoiding negative thoughts are benefits of reading this book

 

 

 

Psycho cybernetics

Psycho-Cybernetics is a classic self help book, written by Maxwell Maltz in 1960. The book combines the Cognitive Behavioural technique of teaching an individual how to regulate self concept. The book defines the mind-body connection as the core in succeeding in attaining personal goals. Maltz found that his plastic surgery patients often had expectations that were not satisfied by the surgery, so he pursued a means of helping them set the goal of a positive outcome through visualizations of that positive outcome. Maltz became interested in why setting goals works. He learned that the power of self-affirmation and mental visualisation techniques used the connection between the mind and the body. He specified techniques to develop a positive inner goal as a means of developing a positive outer goal. This concentration on inner attitudes is essential to his approach, as a person’s outer success can never rise above the one visualized internally.
